The 9th Annual Captain’s Cup Golf Tournament
Rickmers-Line Wins the Cup
The beautiful greens of the BraeBurn Country Club was the spot to be on November 6, 2017, as the Greater Houston Port Bureau hosted the 9th Annual Captain’s Cup Golf Tournament. It was nothing but blue skies as the four-player shambles teed-off. Once again, BraeBurn’s course measured up as one of Houston’s most superior places to play as the tournament rolled through the day.
Rickmers-Line carried home the cup as the first place gross score with players Jerrod McQuain, Dave Morgan, Chad Spencer, and Bill Wood. The Rickmers-Line Captain’s Cup commemorative plaque will be featured in the Port Bureau’s office for one year until the 2018 winner claims the spot. First place net went to the Berard Transportation team of Randy Berard, Justin Engel, Bryan Buchanan, and Les Keonning.
At the Captain’s Cup tournament also offered contests for closest-to-the-pin, hole-in-one, and longest drive. Prizes were earned by Frank Bay, Jamie Sylvestor, and Steve Arnold for closest-to-the-pin and honors for the longest drive went to Derek Steele.
The Port Bureau extends warm congratulations to the Captain’s Cup winners and thanks all the players for a great day of sport. In addition to our generous sponsors, we would also like to thank the 2017 Golf Committee for their hard work: Tim Studdert (Shamrock Marine), Jamie Sylvester (Briggs & Veselka Co.), and Michael Ruffino (Mobilease).
The Captain’s Cub sells out rapidly ever year. If you or your company are interested in participating in 2018, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to receive updates.
