Since opening their doors in 1991, Lonestar Forklift (“Lonestar”) has been a trusted forklift dealer in Texas. The company is committed to building long-term relationships with customers by providing comprehensive solutions for each client’s business needs.

This steady dedication to their customers has spurred Lonestar’s growth from a single facility to seven full-service facilities today.  They now serve customers from locations in Austin, Houston, Midland, Fort Worth, Longview, San Antonio, and Dallas. Alongside their growing facilities, Lonestar has also expanded their business to provide new equipment, used equipment, rentals, service, parts, fleet management, and training.

As part of Venturis Group and Leavitt Machinery, we now have parts capability of ALL major brands, and have served the Gulf region in this capacity for many years,” explains Doug Atherton, Lonestar’s territory manager. “With our Konecranes partnership, we now have an inventory of trucks extending from 36K to 101,000LN capacity reach stackers, along with superior parts and technical support from Konecranes North American headquarters in Houston.”

This makes Lonestar a one-stop-shop for equipment needs. It’s what sets them apart from other dealers.

“Along with being Hyundai’s largest dealer, we are the only dealer in Texas. We are also the only Konecranes Port Truck dealership in Texas,” said Atherton. “We are a Cummins & Volvo Certified Service facility, with full diagnostic, troubleshooting and parts capabilities. We are also a part of Leavitt Machinery’s umbrella, which provides parts on ANY machine, including Taylor, Hyster, Kalmar, Caterpillar, TICO, Ottawa and many others, at OEM pricing.”

With a team of skilled and knowledgeable equipment experts, the team at Lonestar Forklift can assist customers with all their parts and service requirements. Specialists possess a complete web of knowledge for a variety of makes and models, allowing them to provide support for a customer’s entire fleet. They train and certify their technicians in the latest technologies to meet new and evolving EPA standards. The company adds additional techs to the team, sometimes monthly, to support increased service volume. The Lonestar team understands the job site challenges and the burdens of downtime. This drives them to provide customers with solutions as soon as possible, keeping downtime to an absolute minimum.

As part of this team effort, Atherton describes himself as a ‘fanatic’ when it comes to learning and educating customers about the new T4F diesel engine technology. “I spend much of my time studying the systems in an effort to keep the ports moving,” he added. “There is nothing more important than ‘uptime’”.

In looking at the challenges Lonestar tackles in helping customers, Atherton named overcoming rigid “buyer preferences” that have been seeded in historical buying habits as one of the largest.  Customers may prefer a certain brand because ‘that is what we have always bought’.  He understands a buyer must be prudent in spending their budget on a major investment, such as port trucks, yet he urges them to consider more than the cost of an initial investment. Products may be cheap for a reason. “Many factors must also be considered, of course,” said Atherton, “including technical support, parts availability and a product’s reputation.”

Atherton says many brands are available at bargain prices from counties known for their “knock-offs” are making their way into the Gulf area. Many may only be good for a short time until the political climate between the nations cool. “It is our focus, then, to provide long-lasting and stable support, and, training on the brands we represent, to ensure our promise to our customers is always solid and true.”

New Equipment

With an extensive selection of new forklifts, telehandlers, yard spotters, scissor lifts, boom lifts, reach stackers, and container handlers, Lonestar Forklift can provide equipment for any application. Lonestar carries 11 product lines. Leading brands, such as Hyundai, Manitou, Konecranes, Big Joe, Powerboss, and TICO, offer customers the assurance that each unit is built to deliver powerful, reliable performance.

Used Equipment

In addition to Lonestar’s inventory of new equipment, their Houston location houses a vast selection of quality used equipment. Their team of experts can help customers find the perfect unit for the job: from a used forklift, all the way up to a telehandler, you name it!

Rentals

Whether a customer needs short-term, seasonal, or long-term usage rentals, Lonestar’s equipment provides a fixed cost that can be written off as an operating expense. This ensures customer operating costs remain consistent and eliminates the possibility of surprise repair costs. Customers can book an in-depth onsite assessment with the Lonestar team to get an efficient equipment rental plan best suited to their needs and budget requirements.

Quality Parts

Lonestar Forklift stocks thousands of high-quality OEM and aftermarket parts every day. Each component is extensively tested and held to high safety standards, ensuring customers receive reliable parts. Each component is backed by an industry-leading warranty, allowing customers to operate with confidence. Lonestar understands that every second of downtime results in lost productivity, which is why they offer next-day shipping straight to customer’s door throughout Texas, or fast in-branch pickup at the Houston location.

Preventative Maintenance and Repair Services

When it’s time for planned maintenance or emergency repairs, Lonestar’s technicians are prepared to help. Featuring both in-shop and mobile service options, equipment can be brought to them, or they can come to customers. Lonestar also offers total and planned maintenance plans that can be adjusted to specific needs. These plans turn maintenance into a fixed monthly cost, ensuring there are no unexpected costs down the road. Planned maintenance also ensures that equipment stays in peak condition and is ready for the demands of every operation.

Comprehensive Training Courses

From equipment certifications to safety courses, Lonestar Forklift can readily fulfill training requirements. They offer a selection of online training, blended learning, and practical assessments that can be adjusted to fit the unique schedule of each customer.

Serving Customers Safely, Effectively

The Lonestar team adapted quickly to the unusual circumstances brought on by COVID-19. Much of their staff works remotely to serve customers, and service/site-located employees utilize a 2-meter minimum in social distancing and workplace sanitizing measures.

Photos and videos of new and rental units are provided to clients to minimize in-person contact, and quality equipment servicing is still provided to every customer. All equipment undergoes fresh cleaning and sanitizing prior to customer receipt. Lonestar offers 24/7 parts support online and over the phone. Parts are shipped directly to customers, many with next day shipping. Options for curbside pickup are also available.

Select operator training classes are still running with limited seating and modifications to ensure social distancing can be practiced. Desks, seats, equipment, and training materials are cleaned and sanitized before and after each class. Blended training options cover the theory portion of the course online, followed by an in class practical assessment. Individual time slots are scheduled for practical assessments to assure the safest practices possible.

Lonestar Forklift relies on their foundational core values to guide them in serving customers in these unprecedented times. Customers can be assured that Lonestar will shine in supporting them and their equipment needs now and, in the days ahead!
