Greater Houston Port Bureau Refund Policies

In general, the Greater Houston Port Bureau (“Port Bureau”) does not offer refunds for our services. However, due to the varied events and services offered by the Port Bureau, there are some exceptions. Please look for your requested service below to see its refund policy. If your service is not listed below, the Port Bureau does not process refunds for that service.

The Port Bureau is a 501 c(6) non-profit organization. Some payments to the Port Bureau may be tax deductible as a business expense. Please contact your tax advisor for more information.

Membership Dues

Membership dues are non-refundable.

Newsletter Advertisements

Newsletter advertisements are non-refundable.

Directory Advertisements

Directory advertisements are non-refundable.

Commerce Club and Other Luncheons

We do not offer refunds for late cancellations and no-shows. However, if you notify the Port Bureau in writing 3 business days in advance of the event of your desire to cancel, you will receive credit for a future luncheon. You must still register in advance for the future luncheon, and the credit must be redeemed within 4 months. If you cancel attendance at a luncheon you are attending on credit, you will forfeit that credit.

You may also transfer your seat purchase or credit to another person. This transfer must be communicated in writing to the Port Bureau at least 2 business days in advance of the event. All payments must be settled between the original purchaser and the transferee – the Port Bureau will not process a refund for the original purchaser and charge the transferee.

Since the Port Bureau provides advertising for table sponsors, table sponsorships are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Annual Dinner and Sponsorships

Tables: Table sponsorships will be refunded according to the following schedule:

  • 60 days in advance of the event: Full refund, minus a processing fee of 5%.
  • 30 days in advance of the event: 50% refund, minus a processing fee of 5%.
  • Less than 30 days in advance of the event: no refunds.

Sponsorships: Sponsorships (other than table sponsorships) are non-refundable.

Captain’s Cup Golf Tournament

Teams: Team fees will be refunded according to the following schedule:

  • 30 days in advance of the event: Full refund, minus a processing fee of 5%
  • 14 days in advance of the event: 75% refund, minus a processing fee of 5%
  • Less than 14 days in advance of the event: no refunds.

Sponsorships: Sponsorships (other than team sponsorships) are non-refundable.

Vessel Traffic Reports and HarborLights

Vessel traffic reports include daily Houston, daily Texas Ports, ETA reports, and any other subscription vessel traffic report. This does not include special reports, bespoke data pulls, etc.

For subscriptions paid on a monthly basis: No refunds are allowed. The Port Bureau must receive notification by the 15th of the month to cancel your subscription for the following month (e.g., notification must be received by January 15 to stop services starting February 1).

For subscriptions paid on an annual basis: Prorated refunds will be processed for full months only, minus a processing fee of 5% of the full amount. The Port Bureau must receive notification by the 15th of the month to cancel your subscription for the following month.

Special Reports

Special reports include bespoke data services, economic analysis, market reports, and other contracts of Port Bureau staff time and/or Port Bureau data for custom requests.

Special reports are non-refundable.

Tariffs

Tariff posting fees, including tariff changes, are non-refundable.
