Houston Maritime Center and Museum’s Free Safety on the Water Family Day Saturday, January 25.
Houston Maritime Center and Museum (“HMC&M”) will host a free Safety on the Water Family Day on January 25, 1-4 PM at The Studios at East River, 2840 Clinton Drive on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. This event dedicated to enhancing water safety awareness within our local maritime community, tailored for schools and families. This event underscores our commitment to fostering a safe and informed environment on the water. This is a free event.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of industry participants who play a pivotal role in maritime safety. Each organization will provide invaluable insights and demonstrations, ensuring that everyone leaves with a deeper understanding of the essential practices for staying safe on the water.

Founded in 2000 by James “Jim” L. Manzolillo’s, the Houston Maritime Museum was located in a house not far from the Texas Medical Center. In 2019 Houston Maritime Museum changed their name to Houston Maritime Center and Museum, moving into a temporary East End office location while the new location in Houston’s East River is being designed and built. The Houston Maritime Center & Museum’s offers maritime history, arts, culture, and science, educational programs, interactive exhibits, networking events and lectures for the youth, businesses, and public.
