Hafnia Wins in Two Categories at Mission to Seafarers Awards 2024
Hafnia, the world’s largest tanker company, has announced the company was shortlisted in five award categories at the Mission to Seafarers Awards 2024 - Seafarer of the Year, Innovation, Cadet of the Year, Shoreside Team, and Rescue Mission – and won in the Cadet of the Year and Rescue Mission categories.
Christalove Agyin-Ayetse aboard the Hafnia Lene won the Cadet of the Year award. This award, collected on behalf of Christalove by Rajesh Sapre, GM (Technical), honors the cadet or trainee who has made a significant contribution to the welfare of seafarers, both at sea and ashore. The crew of the Hafnia Petrel were highly commended for their exceptional coordination in a successful rescue operation earlier this year that saved lives at sea.
This marks the 7th consecutive year of these awards, and thousands of entries are received from leading companies around the world. Hafnia holds the record for the highest number of shortlisted nominations for a tanker company.
Among the nominees this year, Captain Vitola (OSM/Hafnia) was recognized in the Seafarer of the Year category. Shivas Kapoor was nominated in the Shoreside Team category, and Project Hologram received a nomination in the Innovation category.
Held annually in Singapore, the Mission to Seafarers Awards celebrate the invaluable contributions of seafarers worldwide. Hafnia is proud to participate in this celebration and to be recognized for their commitment to seafarers’ welfare and operational excellence.
