The Greater Houston Port Bureau (“Port Bureau”) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Commander Corrina Ott as Director of Operations effective, April 1. Commander Ott has 28 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard (“USCG”) and retired from the USCG in March.

“We are excited to have Commander Ott taking the helm for Director of Operations for the Port Bureau,” said Captain Eric Carrero, president of the Greater Houston Port Bureau. “Her experience in prevention and compliance in marine transportation, port and vessel operations, and 28 years of Coast Guard leadership has made her the perfect fit to the Port Bureau.”

Commander Ott is a certified Marine Safety Professional with numerous qualifications in marine pollution response, facility and container inspections and Incident Command System. She served as the Texas City Branch director during Hurricane Harvey and was responsible for reopening the ports of Galveston, Texas City, and Freeport. She also served as Operations Section Chief for last year’s Hurricane BERYL response.

“I am very happy to continue in the Houston-Galveston port community.  It will be an honor to work with a strong dedicated team, engaged member companies, and government leaders in advancing business in our port community.  I appreciate the confidence of the Board of Directors and am eager to start,” Commander Ott said.

Commander Ott holds a bachelor’s degree from Charter Oak State College in business administration, a master’s degree in organizational leadership from American Military University, and a Certified Professional designation through the Society for Human Resource Management.
